Mission: To provide a proactive educational program, which will improve knowledge of North Dakota furbearers and provide basic fur hunting and trapping information of our renewable resource.
 

Objectives:

   1. To teach the history of furbearer hunting and trapping and their role in future wildlife
management;

   2. To teach new or inexperienced individuals the importance of responsible and ethical
furbearer hunting and trapping;

   3. To teach identification, preparation, and maintenance of proper hunting and trapping
equipment;

   4. To teach modern furbearer hunting and trapping techniques, which stress animal
welfare, selectivity, and safety;

    5. To provide hands-on experience with hunting and trapping equipment and actual trap
set construction; and

    6. To teach proper pelt preparation, skinning, grading , and marketing strategies.
