Once the beaver pelt is fleshed, opened, and combed, hang the nose of the pelt on a nail, hook, or similar device and measure top to bottom.  Corresponding the "length" measurements to the chart
and read across.  The beaver board size ring listed will provide you with a guide for nailing.  The condition of the beaver and pelt may require a slight adjustment either larger or smaller than that listed.    By Rick Tischaefer

Easy to Make Tail De-Boner

This was submitted by Pat Brenden, but the idea came from the NAFA Fur Handling Video Series.

Peroxide works great to remove small to medium blood spots form fur.  For larger stains put two cups of
ammonia in a gallon of cold water and soak the hide for several minutes.  Rinse the hide in cold water.
